Vegan American Chop Suey

I was first inspired by teeni to make American Chop Suey. I hadn’t had it since I was 8 years old and really gave me a craving. It is so simple to veganized American Chop Suey.

INGREDIENTS

elbow macaroni, cooked & drained
vegan burger crumbles
1/2 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
tomato sauce
onion powder
garlic powder
salt & pepper
oil

  • In a medium pan heat oil. Add onion and green pepper. Cook until softened.
  • Once softened add macaroni, tomato sauce, and generous amount of vegan burger crumbles.
  • While you continue to cook season to taste.

  1. This is a great meal as the weather gets cooler. I like the peppers. We will put those in the next time we make it. Yum. I might add that this is a great meal for anyone who is “transitioning” to vegetarian or vegan, since you hardly realize that there is no meat.

  2. Looks great! YUM!

  3. it is a very hearty meal! i have a little bit leftover for lunch today. Great for those who are trying to become vegetarian. The only “meat” ingredient are the burger crumbles. I bought a bag for $2.20 from my grocery store. So being vege is pretty cheap.
